Anomaly Archives is a passion project my brother and I created. Together, we built a fictional universe through a website and trading cards.

Anomaly

Since we were kids, my brother and I loved creating imaginary stories while playing with toys. Now, we’ve finally brought them to life. My brother drew the creatures and, together, we created backstories and stats. After compiling them all, I made a site acting like an archive for these anomalies, and even a trading card game design.

Process

I aimed to create a seamless and immersive experience for viewing the anomalies, blending my brother’s artwork with interactive design. I took inspiration from espionage and government secrecy, using a style that gives the impression of uncovering classified information. The website would present the anomalies as reported sightings.

For the trading card game and packaging design, I maintained the same espionage-inspired color palette to ensure a cohesive experience from the website to the card game. Each card’s in-game effects were carefully designed to align with the creatures’ lore, aiming to blend storytelling and gameplay.

Result

Working together was both a creative challenge and a rewarding experience. We printed the final designs and shared them with friends and classmates. The project helped my brother gain new followers on Instagram, who wanted to see more of his art!
