The Challenge
The main challenge was to maintain consistency and coherence, ensuring that the animations and the website work together visually and conceptually. Additionally, I personally wanted my showcase to not just tell a story, but to be flashy and eye-catching.
The Inspiration
Anime is one of the most well-known forms of animation, widely known for their vibrant action sequences. Being a big fan of the medium, I wanted to base my animation on one of the most iconic attacks ever in fiction!
The Process
The solution was to immediately decide on what to animate, and what story to tell. From then, I would ensure a uniform look and feel for the animations and the website.
I decided to use a ghost as a subject because its simple design would make the attack feel more grandiose and flashy in comparison. And for the website, I made sure to reuse the color of the ghost’s headband and its energy attack to maintain a uniform look.
The Outcome
In the end, the outcome was a beautiful animation showcase of a ghost in training. Witnessing all the elements together is really satisfying. The project was met with overwhelming positivity. Most notably for the concept, the visiual unity, and the dynamic animations!
